Jeg ble inspirert av Amanda Gorman som leste sitt dikt "The Hill We Climb" i innsettelsesseremonien til president Joe Biden den 20.januar 2021, og skrev selv dette diktet like etterpå
Inspired by Amanda Gorman,
the brilliant and gracious herald
who opened up the gates of glory, so all of us can
sing and praise and join the new and coming phase
of diginty and pride,
Watch out, I say!
The day is coming
when justice breathes
like new-born babies.
A wave will roll ashore,
a blue–green sea
will call upon us all
to be
the change we´re dreaming of,
the movement towards those crowded streets
of righteousness and fairness.
And if you cannot fly the distance,
put on your shoes and walk!
And if you cannot walk, then crawl
like toddlers towards a mother´s arms, a father´s lap,
but move!
Watch out, I say!
